Kevin Perkin shares how companies are more concerned with public perception than ever before.
It’s a well known fact within the advertising and marketing field that brands are constantly attempting to give off positive brand image. Companies will spend countless resources on promotions and public relations in order to get the positive messages out, and soften the negative images.
But why do they do this?
Because much like the rest of us, you have to have a good reputation if you want to make friends; or in this case – customers. People are constantly changing their opinions of other people based on their actions, so it is only natural they apply the same logic to brands. We live in a heavily competitive society for brands that we have the freedom to like and dislike brands and choose accordingly. Advertisers and marketers have picked up on this fact and now spend more time and money than ever trying to maintain a positive image.
