Is print media dying a slow death? Emm Fawcett explores this question.

Hoard your magazines, books and newspapers! Hide them under your floorboards or underneath the basement stairs. Protect them while you still can. The print apocalypse is coming!

This past week Sarah Durrant and I were putting together a presentation for Laura Kittner’s class on whether or not print is dead. Sarah and I both agreed that while print is certainly not dead, it’s slowly dying. I wouldn’t say that it’s going out tomorrow but I would say within 50+ years a newspaper, a book or a magazine will be considered rare.

Technology is constantly evolving and as it grows it shoves other things out of the way to make room for itself. It’s shoving print media with a lot of force.

When I think back to when I was a kid we didn’t read books off machines or check the morning news on our smart phones. Now these things…
