Lexus is literally lighting up the new 2013 Lexus ES print ads before customers eyes. The car is being advertised using Cineprint, technology created by Lexus.

The ad shows an attractive, but pretty generic, print ad for the 2013 Lexus ES in October 15 issue of Sports Illustrated. But if you go to lexus.com/stunning with your ipad and place it directly behind the page, the ad will come to life. Through the screen, the page will light up different features of the car, the weather will change and the wheels will even spin to look like it’s moving.

In class, we’ve been talking a lot about whether print media is dying and being replaced by online, more interactive platforms. I have been holding tightly to the hope that this is not true.
