Everybody’s doing it, even video game companies, writes TJ Locke. Product placement is everywhere.



With such a busy week full of presentations, tests, and assignments, it was hard to relax some nights. One way I did however was by playing the video game NHL 13 with my friends. While playing, something hit me. Advertising is everywhere! Video games are a new way to advertise your product, and by placing your brand within a game with a certain genre, it can attract a lot of attention.

Lets use NHL 13 for and example. Easily a loved game by many in Canada, the Financial Post writes “Hockey fans have played more than 3.7 million online games of NHL 13, which works out to roughly 350 games per minute” With all these viewers, adding the right product to advertise is key.
